A Saucony athlete and New Zealand 1500m runner having competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2015 Track and Field World Championships and 2016 Olympic Games.

Personal Bests: Mile, 3:58.05; 1500m, 3:35.45; 3000m steeplechase, 8:16.03 Competing for the third time in the Kalakaua Merrie Mile (7th 2022, 5th 2017, and 6th 2016)

Mirriam Cherrop is the defending Kalakaua Merrie Mile female champion. Last year, she powered through the line in a quick 4:24.7 – more than enough to set the Hawaii all-comers record.

Competed for the University of Michigan.  Most recently 22nd at the ultra-competitive 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships

In April this year she established herself as one of the greats – winning the Commonwealth Games 3K Steeple – becoming the first Jamaican ever to win senior international gold. She concluded her stellar season by running a 9:14 steeple and lowering her own national record at the Brussels DL
