Transfer your entry: deadline November 1
Plans changed? No worries! Before November 1, you can transfer your JAL Honolulu Marathon entry to a friend or family member, or switch to one of our shorter events, the Start to Park 10K or the Kalākaua Merrie Mile. Here’s how:
- Open the Manage Registration link in your confirmation email.
- Find the booking you want to change, click Manage, then select Transfer.
- Choose Transfer to another race within this event or Transfer to a friend.
- Review and accept the conditions, including a $30 switch fee.*
- Pick your new distance (or enter your friend’s details) and complete the registration form.
*The switch fee is subject to change.
A friendly word of caution 🌺
Our transfer system is meant for sharing the aloha with friends and family. Please don’t buy or sell bibs with people you don’t know, especially through social media or online marketplaces. Unfortunately, bib scams happen every year, and we’d hate for that to happen to you. If someone you don’t know offers you a bib, it’s safest to pass.
The Honolulu Marathon Association is not responsible for any fraud or loss from bibs bought or sold outside our official transfer process, and we can’t refund or replace entries obtained this way.
Transfer to the Virtual Honolulu Marathon Beachfest
- Open the Manage your registration link in your confirmation email.
- Click Manage on the booking you want to transfer and select Transfer.
- Select Transfer to another event.
- Continue to the registration site; the Virtual Honolulu Marathon will appear as the only option.
- Free to switch, pay only for shipping of your finisher pack including race shirt and medal.
••Run anytime between December 14, 2026 – January 15, 2027.
Please note when changing to another race within the event, if you purchased a Refundable Registration, it will not be transferred to your new booking and will need to be purchased again.
Event Transfers & Refund Protection
All race entries are non refundable unless refund protection was purchased as an add on during registration.
To initiate a refund claim, follow the link in your confirmation email or on your Manage Registration page.
Refunds claims are not handled by the Honolulu Marathon, but by the Refund Protect Group, and the Honolulu Marathon cannot influence or change or influence any decisions by Refund Protect.
Refund Protect Group consider the following reason, subject to their General Conditions of Refund:
- Illness / Injury (including Covid)
- Pre-existing Medical Condition
- Pregnancy Complication
- Death of an Immediate Family Member
- Public Transport Failure
- Flight Disruption
- Transport Breakdown
- Severe Weather
- Home Emergency
- Theft of Documents
- Workplace Redundancy
- Jury Service
- Court Summons
- Armed Forces & Emergency Services Recall
- Relocated for Work
- Changes to Examination Dates
