Event Transfers & Refund Protection
All race entries are non refundable unless refund protection was purchased as an add on during registration.
To initiate a refund claim, follow the link in your confirmation email or on your Manage Registration page.
Refunds claims are not handled by the Honolulu Marathon, but by the Refund Protect Group, and the Honolulu Marathon cannot influence or change or influence any decisions by Refund Protect.
Refund Protect Group consider the following reason, subject to their General Conditions of Refund:
- Illness / Injury (including Covid)
- Pre-existing Medical Condition
- Pregnancy Complication
- Death of an Immediate Family Member
- Public Transport Failure
- Flight Disruption
- Transport Breakdown
- Severe Weather
- Home Emergency
- Theft of Documents
- Workplace Redundancy
- Jury Service
- Court Summons
- Armed Forces & Emergency Services Recall
- Relocated for Work
- Changes to Examination Dates
Event Transfers
To transfer from the Honolulu Marathon to a shorter distance (the Start to Park 10k or the Kalakaua Merrie Mile) you can follow these instructions:
- Open the Manage your registration link in your confirmation email.
- Click Manage on the booking you want to transfer and then select Transfer
- Select Transfer to another race within this event.
- Review and accept the conditions (includes a $30 switch fee).
- Choose your new distance and complete the registration form.
